Thane News : Two individuals lost their lives, and five were injured in a factory blast that occurred in Thane, Maharashtra, on a Saturday.
The explosion transpired during the filling of a nitrogen gas container, as confirmed by the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) to news agency PTI.
The nitrogen gas tanker was stationed at a manufacturing unit in Shahad, Ulhasnagar town, around 11 AM. Promptly upon receiving information about the blast, local firemen and the company’s fire services acted swiftly to control the ensuing blaze.

The blast, which transpired in an industrial area, was attributed to the filling of a gas container. Thane Municipal Corporation officials reported that the explosion occurred during the process of filling a tanker with CS2 (Carbon disulfide) gas.
“An unfortunate incident unfolded during the inspection of a nitrogen gas tanker that was meant to be loaded with CS2. The explosion caused immediate casualties and injuries,” stated the police. The injured were promptly rushed to various hospitals, with some in critical condition requiring ICU admission.
The precise number of people present during the blast remains unclear. Authorities are actively conducting a search within the premises to gather more information about the incident.
