A 25-year-old student named Abdul Mohammed from Hyderabad is missing in the United States since March 7. His family back in India got a call asking for money in exchange for his release.
Abdul is studying for a Master’s degree in Information Technology at Cleveland University. He was last seen on March 7. Later that week, his father got a call from someone claiming Abdul was kidnapped and demanded $1,200 to let him go. They even threatened to sell Abdul’s kidney if they didn’t get the money.
His family in the US reported him missing to the Cleveland Police on March 8. They’ve asked for help from the Indian consulate in Chicago on March 18 to find Abdul.
The Cleveland Police are looking into Abdul’s disappearance. Abdul’s mother, Abeda, said she last talked to him on March 7 and hasn’t heard from him since. She’s asking the Indian government to step in and help bring her son back safely.
